Go Rutland
Rutland lies to the east of Leicestershire and to the west of Lincolnshire and at its heart you will find Rutland Water - Europe's largest man-made lake. On offer here are many outdoor watersports and activities, including sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and fishing. One of the best ways to explore Rutland Water is to hire a bike and cycle around the shoreline. An alternative way to see the lake is to take a cruise on The Rutland Belle, which operates regularly throughout the summer months. Walkers can ramble along the shoreline or embark on a more energetic trek on the Rutland Round - a long distance walking route of 65 miles through quiet winding lanes, gentle rolling fields and quintessential English villages.
